It is possible but the evidence of this site and its behaviours is not encouraging.
What makes the site is the broad spectrum of mindsets. Its never an echo chamber. And the humour. When the humour is on form its the best place to be.
The new site could have a holding page that collects the poster’s signups and everyone could be encouraged to signup before building it. If no one signs then you kniw its not going to hspoen.

I only post now and again but actually find this site hilarious, wether the thread is about gardening or the offside law it’s starts off reasonably civil and you look later and it’s as if the teacher hasn’t turned up ,other things like Oz correcting Cabbages spelling, nurse being accused of being a bloke , hammer and sickle getting from every direction , mr chocolate losing it , loads more , hilarious!

A lot of posters all talk amongst themselves via EMAIL or WHATSAPP, to my knowledge.
There's too many political threads on here now days, there should just be 1 thread where all political bollocks can be kept to.
I'd also chuck in there job changes(meaning can't use it during the day, I was off here for a few years because of this) along with change in life circumstances.
